mw lady

q: what is midwest lady, and why do we need her?
a:  midwest lady is a lost facet of american identity. her image is one of the perfect impressions of everything that our vast collection of human imagination could ever desire. she's every wish; every peace; every dream, tear, or fear. she gets off her butt and does it. she makes mistakes, but learns and moves forward. she loves with her whole heart; she gets heartbroken and falls; she finds her way back to the ground. her impeccable will never falters. she is unbelievable, but is every good thing you'd ever want to believe in.

q: sense of place...why midwest?
a: midwest- the gateway to the west. the formation of the american identity was pretty much solely developed around the movement from east to west. somewhere in the middle of her movement, she got lost. all her ideals and everything she thought she was… it was all put to test. she entered into a battle that completely ripped her to pieces. so she dropped everything and settled in the midwest. she couldn't do anything else but recollect and put herself back together.

q: so this midwest lady, is she real person?
a: well yes… there's a little urge of her in all of us… but no, i doubt she can sustain existence with full integrity in a single human body alone… she'd simply explode… or float away into the sky.

q: so she's super-human?
a: well, no, not necessarily… more like she's SO human that she could never really be completely human.

so what are we doing here?
we're celebrating the midwest lady. if you look close you can find bits her all around, in the women right in your own community. and her eyes are crying out for recognition. the midwest lady's undying presence is a perfect storm of learning and understanding. when we see her for all that she is, we can see with deeper compassion, humanity, and endurance. she wants us to get together and find support.. because she finally figured it out  that we can't do this thing alone.
